Lanfinch privacy policy

6 November 2026

Lanfinch is a network scanner for iPhone, iPad and Android. It works on your device only. We don't collect, store or share any personal data, and the app has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

What stays on your device

To show the devices on your network, Lanfinch connects to the addresses of the network your device is on and reads the names, open ports and services those devices announce. On iPhone and iPad it also reads the MAC addresses the system knows. The results, the names and notes you give devices, and the history of earlier scans are stored on your device only. Removing the app removes them.

Logins you save

If you save an SSH or MQTT login, it is kept in your device's secure storage (the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore) and only sent to the device you connect to. On iPhone and iPad it stays on that device and isn't synced through iCloud.

Purchases

Purchases and the free trial go through the App Store or Google Play. We receive no payment or personal details from them. On Android the start of the trial is kept in Google Play services' Block Store, so a reinstall doesn't start a new trial; it contains only that date.

Exports

When you export a list, the file goes where you share it to. Lanfinch doesn't send it anywhere else.
